How We Frame
Our recipe starts with only the finest ingredients:
- Acid free mats and mounting boards by major manufacturers Artique, Bainbridge, Crescent and Peterboro.
- Tru-Vue Glass that provides 99% ultra violet light protection for your artwork, available in Conservation Clear, Museum and Reflection Control.
- Custom made wood and metal frames by Larson-Juhl, CMI, Omega, Roma and more.
- Archival quality hinging papers and corners by Lineco.
- Your artwork, photography, print, poster, antique or collectible.
We will ask you questions about your style, your look, where the art might hang, and listen carefully so we can find the perfect combination of mats frames and glass for your budget. We’ll be able to see your finished frame on the Visualization System and make a really informed selection. Its fun, it’s creative, and we love to show you all the possibilities.
Specialty Mats — Mat cutting has gone high-tech. Art Partners uses a state of the art computerized mat cutter to cut all our mats. This means we can efficiently cut double and triple mats, multiple window mats, and circular and oval mats. This adds a whole new dimension to our creativity. Imagine, we can cut out the number of your son’s football jersey or immortalize your golf swing, as well as design custom windows to display the tassel that came with your high school diploma. Let’s get creative.
Shadowboxes and Memorabilia – Shadowboxes for Sports, Antiques and Collectibles …Preserve your most precious memories for generations to come. Let us create a 3-d presentation that turns memories into heirlooms. Custom created shadowboxes for sports memorabilia, children’s art, trophies, prizes, awards and medals. Display wedding and graduation programs, rare and beautiful stamps, foreign currency, or any special passion or hobby in a professionally crafted frame. We will work closely with you to tell a one of a kind story. Preserve it for a lifetime.
Giclée Framing — What’s a giclée? Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay” ) is derived from the French language word “le gicleur” meaning “nozzle”, or more specifically “gicler” meaning “to squirt, spurt, or spray”[1]. It was coined in 1991 by Jack Duganne, a printmaker working in the field, and has come to mean any high quality ink-jet print. What it means to you — how do I get this framed? Giclée and digital prints come on a wide variety of media, including matte photo papers, gloss photo papers, luster and Canvas. Giclée prints on paper are typically treated by matting and protecting with glass. At Art Partners we typically stretch a canvas giclée like a fine oil painting. It is typically framed without glass. We love giclée and can happily advise you on their conservation treatment. Several of our Gallery artists work in high quality digital print media, including Judy Brown, Barbara Sweeney, Peter Wasilewski, and Dave McIntosh.
Sports —
Let us frame your collectible to protect and maintain its value. We offer
several styles of jersey framing. In some cases we will recommend sewing down
the jersey to acid free backing board in order to show autographs or insignia.
Alternately we offer shadow boxes where the jersey hangs naturally and can be
removed from the shadow box. Or let us customize a mat and frame for an
autographed poster.
Children’s Art
- Some fun and new ideas…Add your child’s name to the
mat around his picture, or
let us scan your child’s artwork, and we’ll make up custom note cards, boxed and
ready to give as gifts for birthdays and holidays.
Textiles — Framing textile work requires a special touch. Many fragile pieces must be hand sewn to the conservation mat, in order to evenly distribute its weight, like this prized Persian Rug. Another piece is a batik utilizing dyes on cotton fabric. We dry-mounted the fabric to archival foam core, and matted it with three mats to accentuate its unusual color palette. Some more examples of our past work can be seen here.
Photo Restoration — Spruce up the
relatives. We will be happy to digitally restore your treasured photos. We scan
your original and return it to you in the same condition. We will correct and
restore your photo to its original color and condition. We can remove tears,
water damage, dust and dirt. A note of caution however, we cannot scan
copyrighted material unless you own the copyright..
Diplomas and Awards— Certificates of Achievement, or a Merit Award… they deserve to be displayed with pride. We can match your current framing, or bring in your school colors to enhance and personalize that diploma.
Custom Mirrors —Mirror mirror on the
wall… Let us create custom mirrors for your fireplace mantle, your foyer, your
dressing room or bath. Beveled mirror is available. Consider a special mirror
sized to fit your space and your décor
